Yvonne Ellis

Founder and Director

Following enduring sexual abuse by her father from the ages of 9 to 13 years old, Yvonne entered into government social care as a looked-after child. Over the subsequent 23 years, she embarked on a difficult journey to healing. However, she triumphed over the adverse challenges childhood sexual abuse left behind.

It was this victory that inspired Yvonne to share her story in the autobiography. Daughter Arise, was initially released in 2010. Witnessing how her story encouraged other survivors to find their voice, Yvonne founded the organisation Daughter Arise in July 2011. This platform provides peer empowerment to survivors of childhood sexual abuse, serving as a beacon of support and encouragement. Through her efforts, she has become an advocate for those who have experienced this childhood trauma, instilling hope and
courage in many women and men.

In addition to her role as Founder and Director of Daughter Arise, Yvonne actively engages in various initiatives aimed at empowering young people in the care system. She also serves as the Director of YEME Empowerment, a company that facilitates the empowerment of people by providing resources and services for personal development and self-empowerment. Furthermore, Yvonne is an accomplished Author, believing that her purpose lies in empowering others through her diverse endeavours.
