Ellis - Founder and Director :
"I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Daughter ARISE, an initiative I envisioned back in July 2010. For many years I have carried a burning desire to help girls and women who like me have been through sexual abuse, emotional and physical abuse which has resulted in low self esteem/confidence issues. The vision for setting up this company was birthed off the back of my autobiography Daughter ARISE, the book I wrote that chronicles my experience of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of my father. On my journey since being taken into government care at thirteen, I have met many girls, women and men who have been through this kind of abuse, from different paths of life; and have witnessed firsthand the devastation it has left behind for many.
Daughter ARISE is here to stand in the gap with those who feel isolated for whatever reason and I want those affected to be able to gain strength, support and encouragement from the services this organisation offers. I believe greatly that Daughter ARISE will have a great impact not only in individual lives but the wider community as we continue to raise awareness." - Stephen
Ellis - Director :
"I would like to first welcome you all to Daughter ARISE and I hope you will support us in this exciting new God given journey.
I have over 15 years experience working in front facing roles within private organisations and local authorities. This has allowed me to gain a wealth of knowledge and insight into the issues and challenges facing different people in our community. I am passionate about helping people and believe support and encouragement is the way to lasting change.
Daughter ARISE will reach out to our community offering help to people who have been directly or indirectly affected by sexual violence/abuse. I am honoured to use my knowledge and experience towards the vision my wife and I have for Daughter ARISE to give support to the vulnerable within our community." - Simone
Francis - Administrator :
"I have administrative experience spanning over a decade, working in reputable, professional organisations and companies. My last administrative role was as an Administrative Officer in an NHS trust.
The organisation that Daughter ARISE endeavours to be will be an all encompassing one that will not only aim to help the disaffected and vulnerable victims of different types of abuse but also their families and supporters by helping them to deal with the aftermath. I want to help Daughter ARISE fulfil its potential" - Catherine
Mitchell - Support Group Co-ordinator :
"I have a range of experience that will be of benefit within my role at Daughter ARISE. I was a camp counsellor and team leader at Christian summer camps here in England and Canada. I have lead on various occasions of Bible study within different age groups.
I very much believe in the work that Daughter ARISE is set to do and feel there is a real need in our communities across the country, even worldwide, for such an organisation as this to support vulnerable, abused, hurting women who may feel alone and have no one they feel they can turn to. I believe Daughter ARISE can help them on the road to healing, to progress on and become who God fully intended them to be." - Llewellyn
Richards - Faith Advisor :
"I have been an Elder (one of the Leaders) at Beulah Family Church since 1996 and have been attending the church since 1987. My main responsibility and gifting is being the worship leader for the church, leading the men’s ministry and pastoral care. My heart is to see all men and women responding positively to the Lord Jesus’ offer to have life and have it more abundantly. Seeing people set free to live life in a new and positive way is a real joy, it is why I care for people and train as a counsellor.
I believe Daughter ARISE will provide the means to change lives, to give hope to those who have lost their way and make a positive contribution the community."
