SUPPORT GROUP

Meeting once a month, we will provide a safe and confidential setting to enable girls and women to talk about issues that are affecting them. This group will be facilitated by Yvonne and trained volunteer staff. This group will allow women to gain support from others who are on the same journey.

SUPPORTING ABUSE SURVIVORS TALK WORKSHOP

For anyone supporting someone has been through sexual abuse. This workshop gives you the information and support you need to be able to address the issue and provides an environment where you can openly discuss your concerns.

SEXUAL ABUSE AWARNESS TALK

For schools, colleges or groups, this awareness talk is both informative and encouraging. Director and Author, Yvonne Ellis shares her experience about how abuse impacted her life, the journey to healing and hope for the future. Also covers interesting facts about how the aftermath of abuse affects different people, facts and myths and encouragement. Engage with Yvonne in a discussion about a subject that is epidemic in this country and worldwide.

WHAT IS SEXUAL ABUSE? -RAISING AWARNESS

Besides sharing how abuse affected and impacted her life, Yvonne Ellis will be talking about what constitutes as abuse, signs to look out for and how to safeguard children. This is a must for anyone who has children or would like to know more about how abusers set the scenario for potential abuse. This talk covers how to teach your children about handling this scenario by empowering them about their bodies in an appropriate way.

EXPRESSIVE WORKSHOP

Author Yvonne Ellis will be helping those who want to write down their experiences and feelings about sexual, physical or emotional abuse in a constructive format. As a group the expressive workshop will look at dealing with painful memories, the importance of having a voice and exploring positive avenues such as poetry, journaling and the process of planning and writing your own book.

JOURNEY TO HEALING -SURVIVORS WORKSHOP

This workshop is to raise awareness about how sexual abuse affects the individual and to encourage the abuse survivor towards beginning steps to healing and for those on the journey. Covers Yvonne's experience, how it affects different individuals, finding peace, self acceptance plus much more. This workshop really supports and helps the survivor of abuse and is interactive, informative and empowering.

The aim of the workshops are to raise awareness and educate women on a variety of topics such as;

  • healing from emotional and sexual abuse,
  • developing positive relationships,
  • how sexual abuse effects the individual,
  • spiritual awareness, building good self esteem.

We will be offering other workshops as well.

We will be running workshops for organisations, supporters and their families to enable them to get the help they need to support others.


MENTORING AND BEFRIENDING SERVICE

We offer a mentoring and befriending service to those seeking extra support. It could be you want someone to accompany you to a meeting or perhaps you just want help to achieve personal goals. Daughter ARISE will match each participant with a trained volunteer.


PRACTICAL HELP

Provide help and advice on CVs, housing issues, benefits, budgeting, assist in filling out forms. We also help individuals source external help from other agencies.


HELPLINE AND INTERNET BASED SUPPORT

You can email support@daughterarise.org.uk, text or call us through Skype if you want to, as we know it is not an easy issue to talk about face to face. This support channel gives you an outlet to talk to one of our trained volunteers, we are here to listen and support you. All information discussed is treated in the strictest confidence.
